This is a study pertaining to the confluence of Tam-shui river drainage basin and near mountain frontier areas. The purpose of this study is to explore the formation and development of the old district in Ta-hsi, analyze factors leading to such formation and development, describe its apparent settlement and spatial form, as well as discover the underlying spatial structure and social structure.
