It had been observed that pneumoconiosis patients exhibit decreased hospitalization frequencies as their illness progressed. This study is aimed to reveal the life and disease course of these miners. The result found that we had very limited understanding of these miners. There patients took the work because of economic stress, experienced mine disasters and the deaths of their friends, thus they had developed unique life attitude and wisdom. The data was collected from oral history during interviewing and previous patient board discussion records. We hope that the study result could aid in the design of health caring system for these pneumoconiosis patients.
