The study was to investigate the elder's health concept through their viewpoints and personal experiences in order to have a better understanding on how the Taiwanese culture and society constructs the elders' health perspectives. Hence, the study has three goals: first, to explore the elders' personal belief of health; second, to investigate the types of coping method that the elders' use to deal with their health and disease in this diverse medical treatment culture environment; and third, to diversify the health policy makers' reflection on the basis of the elders' opinion.The study used Kleinman's model of disease coping method as its theoretical framework; as well, participatory observation and in-depth personal interview were used in this study to collect the elders' experiences and opinions of their disease coping method and health maintenance in San-Zhi, Taipei County. Furthermore, collected data was coded, analyzed and interpreted upon the completion of collection. Four major findings were showed from data analysis.
