This research discover the behavior settins and setting system in the old street by practical observation and behavior-setting-map drawing。It also discusses the relationship of time、space and the users between native lives and tourist activities。This research includes 5 chapters。The first chapter -Introduction- expounds the considerations、purposes and the theories used in this research。The used theories are Barker and Rapoport’s concepts of behavior setting and setting system. The second chapter mainly define the study scope、bring up the questions、design the study method，and expound the study driftage。The third chapter describe the physical environment of the old street in Tamsui。The fourth chapter annotate the operational time rules of native lives and tourist activities，the meanings of behavior setting systems。The fifth chapter explore the modes of arising native lives in the old street in Tamshui。
