This study was to estimate the growth and survival rate of polylayer cultured Haliotis diversicolor supertexta Lischke in Kung-Liao in different stocking densities and different layers, and to estimate the optimal stocking density.
The results indicate that the effect of density are more than that of layer on growth of H. diversicolor supertexta. The growth rate varied with water temperature when it was out of the optimal range. No significant influence of environmental factors on growth was found because salinity, dissolved oxygen and PH during this study period were in the optimal range for H. diversicolor supertexta. The stocking density for optimal gwth and harvesting weight is 40/basket; the optimal density for total harvesting weight is 65/basket.
