This paper studies the inhabitants’ diet changed at San-Chih Hsiang, Wan-Li Hsiang, Chin-Shan Hsiang and Shih-Men Hsiang of north Taiwan between 1993 to 1998. We investigated the quantity of food consumption included rice, vegetables, tubers, meat and fruits for those regions on 1993 and 1998. The different methodologies of Hotelling T2 of multivariate statistics and categorical data analysis were applied. The results were organized into a square contingency table. We advanced the symmetric of contingency table by nonparametric statistic method to examine the inhabitants’ diet changed or not between those two years.
