The terrain structure is very special and outstanding in Taiwan, so she is praised and called as the “Formosa”, the beautiful island, since a long time ago. The jagged rocks and grotesque shapes, mountainous waves are beating the shore, and rare reef styles and features in the northern Taiwan shore region; every place here just looks like the painting and also can lead people into the wild and fanciful thoughts on them. The main point of this research is using the reef styles and features in the northern Taiwan shore to analyze and compare with the Chun Method (the Wrinkle Technique), one drawing technique of Chinese Landscape Paintings. At first, it explains the so-called the Chun Method and its origin in Chinese landscape painting, some important issues from the ancient and contemporary painters and essays, explanations and drawings of all kinds of the Chun Method, and the relationship among the Chun Method, regional and visual psychology. And, then it generally describe the landscape and geographic condition of the northern Taiwan shore reef and takes the specific scenes for studying such as Chin-Shan, Yeh-Liu, Peace Island, Nan-Ya Coast, Pi-Tou-Chiao, Lung-Tung, Pei-Kuan, etc. Meanwhile, uses the different styles and features of landscape pictures from each viewpoint here to analyze, and then uses all kinds of the Chun Method to paint and eager to represent the insight meaning of those landscape paintings. To express the particular reef lines of northern Taiwan shore, predecessors already have the Chun Method to use but unable to satisfy with the feeling of reality. Furthermore, it also hard to display the particular structural lines and its insight spirit of the northern Taiwan shore reefs. However, I try to use my own thoughts and methods to show the innovation paintings that are different from our predecessors did for reaching the goal of this research.
