The aim of this study was to comprehend the potential needs of adult education at Nei-Hu district in Taipei city and furthermore to evaluate what kinds and which hierarchy (from elementary to advanced) of adult education courses should be set up. To fulfill the goals of the study, the researcher collected data from the related literature and empirical investigation researches, and then analyzed and inducted these data to establish the research framework and theoretical basis. According to the research goals, literature exploration, and the views of scholars and experts, the researcher developed a questionnaire to survey the needs of adult education at Nei-Hu district in Taipei. The subjects of the questionnaire came from the adult family member of 1,000 students who were studying at 12 public elementary schools in Nei-Hu and were chosen by cluster ratio random sampling.
