這個論文設計的目的在於呈現一個以構築性(tectonics)理論為認知基礎的建築設計。整個設計思維的重點是如何將下列諸端從意念(conceptual)的抽象狀態轉變成為建築實體構成物的組構邏輯:◎ 臺北北投當地的天然資源與在地營造產業。◎ 設計案所在地(site)的地形、地物、微氣候與日影變化。◎ 溫泉浴場空間內容(architectural program)衍生之社會性議題。此一被發展出之組構邏輯即學人所謂之「營造的詩意」(poetics of construction),並由此邏輯生產出建築物的形式(architectural form)。因此建築設計的最終形式表現非來自於慣常設計構圖模式或是當下營建成例及舊有營造之形象複製。更由於此建築物形式的生產邏輯來自於各項與建築物所在地密切相關之地理/地誌性(topographic)與社會性(sociological)線索,從而論證此設計案與其所在地之契合/獨有性和在地性,本論文中以「建築之不可移動性」詮釋之。末了再以此設計案之構築性觀點對建築學上之地域性議題(regionalism)在全球化(globalization)中之寰宇性價值(universal value)提出回應與看法。
英文摘要
The objective of this thesis design is to present a tectonic theory as a perceptual basis for architectural design. The focus is placed on how, by means of structured logic, the followings are transformed from a abstract state of concept into the physical manifestation of architecture:◎the natural resources and thee local construction industry of the Taipei Peitou(台北 北投)area◎the sun-shadow variations, microclimate, topography, and artifacts at the project site◎the sociological issues derived from the architectural program in a thermal bathThe point of departure of the thesis is a conviction that architectural form is construed from organizational logic of assemblage, i.e. tectonics, better coined as “the poetics of construction” in the discipline. Therefore, the final manifestation of architectural design does not stem from the usual mode of design composition or unreflected application of construction methods or replicas of past built forms. Rather, the production logic of architectural form is emerged from all factors pertaining to the site’s geographical, topographical, and sociological aspects, confirming the design’s specific to the site and locality. These genuinely, uniquely “local” factors were termed as “the immovability of architecture” in the thesis. Finally, this thesis examines and responds to the universal value of architectural regionalism in the unstoppable process of globalization through the tectonic viewpoint of design.
