From 1982 to the present, Law on Preservation of Cultural Assets has been announced more than two decads and guided the conservative system and policy. This thesis researches and analyzes designated historical sites and buildings from 1982 to 2003.
An introduction and description of conservation reference and comparison between Japan and Singapore provides the background(chapter 1), and then from the aspect of a local government, we discuss the executive system and performing procedure in Taipei(chapter 2).
Next(chapter 3), based on the context of Taipei development, we intends to construct the features of Taipei historical sites and buildings.
Further more, the author probes in the right and duty of cultural assets, especially litigations, which have deeply influenced the conservation system in the recent years(chapter 4 & 5).
Last but not least, suggestions and strategies are presented to a local government for promoting performance and concept of conservation in chapter 6.
