I’m going to take Dong-Rong Li, for example to discuss the role of the chief of village. By studying the role of the chief of village, I’m going to analyze the issues which the chief of village faces under the current rules and regulations and establish the role which a chief of village should play by adopting the concepts of the role theory, the role expectation, the role conflict, and the role performance. Finally, I’ll give my suggestions and visions based on the results of my research so as to construct a role of the chief of village which meets the requirements of modern society. To explore the role of the chief of village, it’s essential to analyze its status and its relationship with the related persons in the regards of role expectation, role conflict, and role performance.
