The Linkou Tableland where landslides occurred frequently is selected to be the study area. After searching and collecting data, the instability causal factors which we extract includes the slope gradient, the slope facet direction, the lithology, the vegetational situation, the distance to streams, the distance to roads and the distance to faults. The two above-mentioned methods are used to zone the landslide susceptibility in the Linkou Tableland. The result from the dangerous value method shows that the most influenced factors in the Linkou Tableland are the lithology, the distance to streams and the slope gradient. High susceptibility areas are generally distributed over the steep slope near the streams in the eastern and western side of the Linkou Tableland. The result of principle component analysis is roughly alike but the three main factors have reduce the degree of influence, and other factors relatively raise their degree of influence.
