This dissertation aims at inquiries about the historical process from the garden city ideas to the planning practice of the Post-War Yungho City; this process is the transplantation of the planning discourses in the specific historical context of Taiwan. We need to look into how the garden city planning was done in the Yungho City with the comprehension, interpretation and displacement of the planning ideas of England and America, yet later how that plan was executed distortedly owing to the specific political and economical environment at that time.
