This study focuses on the butterfly fauna and population changes from 1995 to 2009 at Daan Park and attempts to determine the effects of anthropogenic disturbances on the butterfly assemblage in several urban green areas in Taipei.The main prupose of this study is to know the buttterflies fauna in Daan Park including investigating the formation and the time distribution of the butterflies fauna in each block of the line transect, probing the relationship of the butterflies fauna and the enviroment ,probing the relation ship of the butterflies fauna and the environment and comparing the differences of the butterflies fauna now with the past. I’d like to know the impact of urbanization and the features of the butterfly in Daan Park.. Taipei city was developed rapidly in the 1970s. Under the influence of urbanization, butterflies that survived in forests and forest edges disappered. Inaddition, the number and the diversity of butterflies which live in the plain regions of Taipei reduced. Since Daan Park opened in 1995, the number and the diversity of the butterflies fauna have increased. From July 2008 to June 2009, I finished 48effective investigations and recorded 8 families, 50 species and 3141 individual counts of butterflies. And investigated to 110 species of butterflies during 1936. Also had investigated 69 species of butterflies from 1960 to 1972.By this study, we can understand the impact of urbanization. So that, if there is appropriate management in the urban habitat, the number and the species of butterflies will be restored.
